  1. Young Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) has to lead a hard life: His parents have died in a car crash when he was still a baby, and he is being brought up by his Uncle Vernon (Richard Griffiths) and Aunt Petunia (Fiona Shaw). For some reason unbeknownst to the bespectacled ten-year-old, the Dursleys let him live in the small chamber under the stairs, and treat him more like vermin than like a family member. His fat cousin Dudley Harry Melling), the Dursley's real son, keeps bothering Harry all the time. On his eleventh birthday, Harry Potter finally receives a mysterious letter from a certain Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, telling him that he is chosen as one of the future students of that supposedly renowned school. Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane), the gigantic man who brought the letter, finally introduces Harry into the real circumstances of his life: His parents were a wizard and a witch, they were killed by the evil wizard Voldemort (Richard Bremmer) protecting him. Harry still has a lightning-shaped scar on his forehead from that event. Since he survived the attack as a baby, and also somehow deprived Voldemort from his powers, he has been famous in the wizarding world ever since. The Dursleys, strong disbelievers in that magical crap, never told Harry anything about his true self. So, Harry is strongly surprised, yet absolutely happy to start his training. At Hogwarts, Harry meets his teachers, and becomes friends with Ron Weasley (Rupert Grint) and Hermione Granger (Emma Watson). The three of them accidentally find out that the potions master, Severus Snape (Alan Rickman), seems to plot on stealing something that is guarded by a three-headed dog. Since nobody would believe some first years to have found out such important things that even would incriminate a Hogwarts teacher, they take it on themselves to find out what Snape is up to. Their quest for the truth leads across many obstacles, from keeping up the everyday school life, a bewitched Quidditch match (Quidditch is a popular wizard sport), Fluffy, the three-headed monster dog, and quite some tasks one has to overcome to get to the guarded object

Can someone give me a.n. for the moves. Oh my god all Ollivander's scenes are satisfying for me, the way he grabs the wands and treat them and decsribes them. He also stocks Sonic Screwdrivers. 4:43 Well done. Hagrid, Well done! That spoiled ugly brat really deserved it:P😠😠😠🤣🤣🤣. “grass is more important than the camera, go away.” “all of you shut up.” “what would you like to do if you had a magic power? kill you.” what a mood. Not all of these scenes are deleted different film have different scenes because I have some of these scenes on my dvd.

+5 points only. I find it quite funny that despite the attempts of Vernon putting a stop to mailing letters of Harry's invitation to Hogwarts, the owls never gave up having managed to outsmart Vernon, what a stubborn bastard. Harry is snatched away from his mundane existence by Rubeus Hagrid (Robbie Coltrane), the groundskeeper for Hogwarts, and quickly thrown into a world completely foreign to both him and the viewer. Famous for an incident that happened at his birth, Harry makes friends easily at his new school. He soon finds, however, that the wizarding world is far more dangerous for him than he would have imagined, and he quickly learns that not all wizards are ones to be trusted. Spielberg reportedly wanted the adaptation to be an animated movie, with Haley Joel Osment to provide Harry Potter's voice, or a movie that incorporated elements from subsequent books as well. Spielberg contended that, in his opinion, it was like "shooting ducks in a barrel. It's just a slam dunk. It's just like withdrawing a billion dollars and putting it into your personal bank accounts. There's no challenge. " J. K. Rowling maintains that she had no role in choosing directors for the movies, and that "anyone who thinks I could or would have vetoed him (Spielberg) needs their Quick-Quotes Quill serviced. " David Heyman recalled that Spielberg decided to direct A. I. Artificial Intelligence (2001) instead. The role of Captain Marcus Flint is played by Jamie Yeates but credited to Will Theakston. In turn, Theakston plays Seeker Terrence Higgs; this role is credited to Scot Fearn, who plays Chaser Adrian Pucey. Pucey is credited as David Holmes, who actually played a Slytherin Beater and was Daniel Radcliffe 's stunt double. You think the dursleys would be glad to get rid of Harry for the school year by the way they treat him. Harry potter v c3 a0 h c3 b2n c4 90%c3 a1 ph c3 b9 th e1 bb a7y series. Me Cause I Watched This 3 Years Ago and I Downloaded The Game : OMG IT'S THE SORTING HAT AAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. But only just, and as I had really low expectations. Make your own mind up.
No, I am being too harsh. It was fun and exciting, and at the end of the day, it is a kids film and was far more entertaining than I find most other films of this genre (The exception being the amazing Monsters inc.)
I had not read the books and actively tried to avoid "Harry Potter" but when you are faced with 4 cousins all saying how wonderful it is and you are left on a windswept January evening taking care of them, How could I say no. To be honest, I poured a glass of wine and thought it an ideal time to catch up on my sleep. But, as I said, I liked it. and Will probably watch it again and will also probably watch the chamber of secrets. Acting by the main characters was satisfactory, especially since this was most of the kids first major outing. The support cast was wonderful. And the more I see of Alan Rickman, the more I admire him.

I am looking forward to the third film which features Another favourite of mine, Mr Gary Oldman (recently seen as the devil alongside James Brown in the BMW Short Films. What do you mean you have not heard of these. Track down the dvd, its great.
Anyway, I have given this film an 8. If you havn't seen it yet (which I find most unlikely since it is one of the biggest grossing movies of all time) watch it. If you have seen it, watch it again, with your kids.

2:38 the Youtubers Union's plan is essentially to replicate this scene at Youtube's HQ. Its so cute how shy dan is around Emma because he had a crush on her at the time. Little harry was the most precious, adorable little cinammon roll in all existence and i had completely forgot it until now. Harry potter v c3 a0 h c3 b2n c4 90%c3 a1 ph c3 b9 th e1 bb a7y plus. It's quite nostalgic to revisit the magical world of Harry Potter after so many years, yet surprising to discover that it still has a charming quality about itself. The first in the 8-part film series, Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone (also known as Harry Potter & the Sorcerer's Stone) may not have the darkness or complexity of its later instalments but what it manages to retain is the freshness, innocence & excitement one feels when embarking on a new adventure.
Based on the novel of the same name by J.K. Rowling, Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone begins the journey of The Boy Who Lived and covers his adventures during his first year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft & Wizardry. Completely oblivious to the world of magic as well as his famed celebrity status, the young Potter learns to adjust well at his new home & begins to prove his worth but soon realises that this magical world is far more dangerous for him than he imagined.
Directed by Chris Columbus, the film is a wonderful treat for kids & families plus as far as the screenplay goes, it remains pretty faithful to its source material. Cinematography beautifully captures the ambiance of Hogwarts, music by John Williams provides a magical feeling of its own & the visual effects clearly doesn't seem to have aged well over the years. Looking back, there are few moments which today seem pretty silly or stupid & unfortunately with every passing year, it's only going to get worse.
Coming to the acting department, there are performances ranging from pretty impressive to childish & annoying but I still have nothing to complain about the casting choices made here as not a single actor feels like a miscast in the story. Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint & Emma Watson do their part fine but it's Alan Rickman, Robbie Coltrane & Richard Harris who impress most in their respective roles of Severus Snape, Rubeus Hagrid & Albus Dumbledore.
On an overall scale, Harry Potter & the Philosopher's Stone may not look as magical today as it was during its time of release but it's still a wonderful adaptation of J.K. Rowling's spellbinding world on the silver screen, which would later go on to become a cultural phenomenon of our time. And even though its story might be more aimed at younger audience, there are moments present in the film that will have even adults gazing at the screen with a childlike sense of wonder. Worth a watch? Definitely.

At 0:56 you can see neville with his grandmother admiring hogwarts express. Hermione running back into the cubicle to hide kind of reminds me of the first T-Rex attack in Jurassic Park! xD.
